It is a world not fully made, where the sky is yet full of sea, and the earth yet bereft of blue, hostile to life. Hostilities in the heavens seem loomingly, unseemly, as dark and light sit in the sky, terrible, disillumining the sun. The clouds meet the earth. The very earth, set against the sky, is but an insignificant black ocean, and so it was as the early settlers entered these lands. And the pillar of cloud Moses-like guides these settlers onwards and upwards, as the High King might have it, into the new land given into their hands.
